A perfect powder punch

Sunshine getting 14 cm of fresh snow

Grab your powder skis and boards – it’s snowing at Sunshine Village, and up to 14 cm of powder is expected by Tuesday.

With all this white stuff – and snow pack already sitting at 130 cm – Alberta’s favourite ski and snowboard resort boasts the longest season in Canada. Sunshine Village is open until May 24, and the snow today means epic conditions moving into the spring.

“We’re entering a great snow season at Sunshine,” says Doug Firby, associate director of communications for Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort. “This couldn’t come at a better time.”

Sunshine has been blessed with seemingly endless bluebird days and sunny, mild conditions as of late. This snowfall is providing for even better conditions moving into the spring skiing season.

All 12 lifts and 100 runs are wide open, and will stay that way for many weeks yet.

The extra snow is just one more reason to grab the best bargain in the Rockies - Sunshine's Spring Pass Sale. Adults can ski from March 21 until May 24 for just $357, and students, seniors and mid-week passes are available for just $287.
